˜Grandparents make the world ¦ a little softer, a little kinder, a little warmer; they are angels and the precious gem in the center of the household'
A salute to our Roots
With the shrinking size of families, grandparents are often missed the most by children. It is important to sensitize them about the role of grandparents in one's life and teach them about respecting and taking care of them in their old age. Grandparents are those with silver in their hair and gold in their hearts who always sprinkle blessings over the lives of little children.
As a mark of abundance admiration and respect for their grandparents and lay emphasis on the emotional bonding of children with their family; World Senior Citizen's Day was celebrated by the students at Prudence School Dwarka 22. Students greeted grandparents vehemently and offered adulation in the form of badges as a token of gratitude. Such special days and events allow each child to foster imagination, creativity, communication and collaboration wherein students created alluring cards for their grandparents. Blessings of all the grandparents and elders present were with the hope that they continue to enrich our lives with the valuable contributions that emerge from their experiences. Exquisite moments were captured and the day filled with fun and frolic was appreciated by the elderlies who abundantly enjoyed with their little ones. Grandparents are essential members of our families and communities. The warmth was evident through joyful smiles and teary eyes of the grandparents as they were overwhelmed to write messages on the message board where they could express the wonderment of growing up all over again, and re-share all stories and games.
The main idea highlighted was the appreciation of values, motivation, and inspiration that children draw from their grandparents. Some grandparents took this opportunity to share their experiences and added value with their participation.
